SOUGHT AFTER- Isabel Marant Chain Wrapped Boot!

From SS09 these boots are seriously TDF. (To Die For)
We would consider giving up Prosecco for these shoes...
well, at least for a week.
This shoe inspired us to get creative with our own boots.
We took a ribbon wrapped chain from a flea market and wrapped them
around our boots (pictures to come) to try to get the same feel...
Have you D.I.Y'd your boots/shoes? Send us pictures!!

Just Perfect

What a great way to wear those beautiful YSL tribute pumps (still one of our favorites).

Recreating this look would be pretty simple. A Cute Plaid/Check Jacket, Grey Tights, Black Pumps, and a cute chucky bag. Here are a few options:

The Jacket:
If you have some $$ to spend:

This Smythe Dickens wool-blend jacket ($525 on Net-A Porter) is gorgeous

Another option is this Check Boyfriend Blazer ($125 from TopShop)

Grey Tights. You can find some great tights at Old Navy ($6.50)
and American Eagle ($12, or 2 for $20)

To Complete this look, A great pair of pumps (obvi)and a classic bag.

Now, we all love those YSL Tributes ($795, Neiman Marcus)

But these Bebe Heels ($149, Bebe.com ) would be cute too.

Ok..Off to class..Hope you are having fun in Paris Ro...
Its stormy here in LaLa Land.

Keeping it French- Simple & Chic!

Today I observed the typical French woman's style. My favorite thing that I love about French women is their style is so effortless yet so amazingly chic. The best celebrity example that does the French "Simple & Chic" look so well is the beautiful and Muse to many, Charlotte Ganisbourg.

To achieve this look you would want to get some sort of long sleeve tee (Stripes work too!) like this one from Top Shop

put a boyfriend blazer on top like this one from Forever 21...

a pair of skinny jeans like this one from Forever 21...

and the cherry on the sundae is you need a very "a la chic" scarf! Now I say- take the scarf to another level! Get one with creative fun designs! It will put life into your outfit! Like the tiger print from DVF, the amazing patterns in the Etro, Gucci and Marc Jacobs below!

Another observation is most women especially in Paris only wear flats. So take this look to the next level and pair it up with some Ballet flats or amazing mid-calf boots. If you want to make this look even more classic- pair it up with some Chanel or Martin Margelia flats! For a cheaper look- check out this boots from Steve Madden

Put this look together and you'll be mistaken for a classic Parisian!

Viva (A) La France!

I’m currently on vacation in Paris at the moment- and I can’t help but wanting to write about all my adventures….so while Ra is in LA, I’m going to blog diary every day in Paris, and how the fashions here inspire the fashionista in all of us!

Day ONE: Paris isn’t kidding when they say they are the center of all things fashion and with this week being the final days of Paris Ready to Wear Spring / Summer 2010  Fashion week the streets are filled with le mode!  Of course you cannot think of French HAUTE fashion without my two favorite words Chanel and Louis Vuitton in mind! That is why I decided to start my A LA MODE adventure at one of the most posh districts in Paris, 8eme. As I walk down the Champs Elysses you can’t help but run into the fabulous public exhibit of all the Vouge Magazine Covers. With familiar faces like Bridget Bardot, and Kate Moss and retro style covers with color and life it will simply blow you away.

The drooling doesn’t stop there either! It was smart of me to walk down Avenue Montaigne (The Rodeo Dr. of Paris) on a Sunday when all the stores are closed because you KNOW I’ll do some damage if I see something I need. Anywho- I took the term “window shopping” to the next step by photographing my favorite visual displays at my most wanted stores (I.E: Chanel, Valentino, Dior and MORE!)

About

From working right next door to each other, two girls by the names of Rachel and Roberta bonded over their love for expensive shoes and each others' distinct styles.

With Rachel having effortless sense of mixing designer and vintage finds and Roberta in love with all things avant-garde and funky, it would only be right to combine fashion forces.

The two girls became instict friends, fashion soulmates, and now co-partners for The Ray and The Ro.

The site was named off our nicknames to each other, The Ray (being Rachel) and The Ro (being Roberta) and our objective for this site is to bring you a little taste of all the HAUTEST things in fashion.
